It has almost become more of a cult-like language were you will find “B2B Sales Representatives” often using skills that akin to retail sales rep with the difference being a good retail sales rep. usually sales in a relaxed fashion where that B2B sales has become more arrogant or even holier than thou attitude that boards on being nauseating to most prospects. What is even more unappealing is that most prospects quickly become over whelmed with the B2B techno-blad offered by the B2B sales rep to the point that as a prospect viscerally draws back to the most back instinct “FEAR”. Fear of failing, making a mistake, or not being appreciated and naturally fear of being thought of as STUPID.
So let’s try on your next venture, use the term B2B Sales during one of your sales pitches, see if you can take down that behemoth and score the big deal. Speak above your customer and give the impression that you know more about the solution that is on the table and more about the solution that is best suited for their requirements. Try to poise yourself in a way them belittles the customer into thinking that they need you more than you need them. The point of the statements is to offer a little shock value – do you really think that by speaking over someones head will make them want to accept your services or product offering?
